Dress-up Themed Tea Parties
We offer several themed tea parties--all with some costuming provided.
The party packages include finger foods, tasty teas, beautiful table settings, etiquette instruction, a formal presentation of each guest, a keepsake fan to take home, and dancing.
We provide cake-cutting and eating time and a fun present-opening time, while still dressed in costumes.
NOTE: We do not provide a birthday cake--that is the responsibility of the client.
Our signature party, the Victorian Tea Party is offered for girls ages 7 through teens. At this party, girls dress in satiny gowns with hoop skirts underneath, and fancy hats to match. Guests are served finger foods on china dishes from 3-tiered servers, and our special recipe vanilla-flavored tea, served in silver tea pots. There is a formal presentation of each guest, and they learn old-style dancing at each party. Guests take home a beautiful Victorian fan as a keepsake, learn the "Language of the Fan," and get a real taste of what it was like to be a proper Victorian lady!
Victorian party lasts approximately 2 hours.
Cost of Victorian Party -- $275 for 10 participants, and $10 for each additional
guest ($75 deposit)

For younger girls, our Little Lady Dress-Up Parties are offered for the 4 to 6 age group. Guests wear their own party dresses to the party, and then they "accessorize" with our hats, lacy shawls, jewelry, silk purses and white gloves! Party guests drink "pink tea," (which is really lemonade) from china tea cups, and are served "kid-friendly" finger foods, including heart-shaped sandwiches. They decorate a fan to take home. Each party ends with a lively dance!
Little Lady parties last 1 1/2 hours
Cost of Little Lady Party -- $250 for 10 participants, and $10 for each additional guest ($50 deposit)

For Teens (or almost teens), we offer Teatime on the Titanic. This party is open to young ladies and gents, and costumes are provided. Guests get to be real passengers who traveled on the Titanic as they "take tea" in high Edwardian style. They learn a bit of Titanic history and trivia, and learn dances that range from First Class to Steerage!
Titanic party lasts approximately 2 hours.
Cost of Teatime on the Titanic -- $275 for 10 participants, and $15 for each additional guest ($75 deposit)

Other themed teas are offered for teens through adults, by request. Some of these include: Gone With the Wind, Victorian Christmas, Somewhere in Time, Pretty Princess (for ages 4 - 7), Alice in Wonderland, and Wild West (for boys and girls). Themes can be developed for your particular child upon request. There may be an extra charge to hold specialized themes.
Important booking details:
To schedule any of our dress-up parties, please contact Southern Oaks to set up a time to come in and fill out a contract.
Party pricing is based on a minimum of 10 guests; if there are less, the entire amount for 10 will still be charged.
There must be a minimum of 6 to schedule a party.
A deposit of $50 - $75 is required at time of booking, depending on type of party; the balance can be paid at the time of the party.
The total number of guests needs to be given by phone to the management by 3 days prior to the party--that is the final count that the client will be charged for. If guests do not show up, the client is still required to pay the amount agreed to on the 3rd day prior to the party.
Adding a guest at the last minute can usually be accommodated.
Customers must bring the birthday cake, cupcaked, etc., if desired. A decorated buffet table will be provided from which the cake will be displayed and served, including silver serving pieces.
We request that you please do NOT bring ice cream.....it is messy and not necessary--there are enough sweets!! We do not want to overly mess up our costumes!
We accept checks, cash, money orders.....sorry, we do not accept credit cards at this time.
