Red Hat Socie-teas at Southern Oaks
We offer tea parties and luncheons for Red Hat Society outings. There are several themes offered. Some groups enjoy the standard Red Hat Tea where the color scheme is red and purple, or the Victorian Tea Party. Other themes to choose from are "Gone With the Wind," TeaTime on the Titanic, a Garden Par-tea, Victorian Christmas, Mad Hatter, and more. At all themes, tables are set up to match the theme, using beautiful linens, china, and silver tea service. Guests are guided through the "ritual" of taking tea in an entertaining and informative manner by Michele Cox, the hostess.
At all teas, guests are served a luncheon menu usually consists of finger sandwiches, seven-layer salad, fruit bowl, mini-quiches, and dessert, or similar fare. Participants may wear hats from the Southern Oaks collection, or wear their own red and pink hats.
The cost is $20 per person for the standard luncheon/tea; and $3 extra per person if ladies want to dress in costumes from the Southern Oaks costume collection. There is a minimum group size of 12 to hold a party, and the max is around 50.
