History Day Camp

             ~Victorian (1800s) Camp

             ~Colonial (1700s) Camp

             ~Edwardian (early 1900s) Teen Camp

             ~International Folk Dance Camp

Victorian Adventures offers 4 different summer day camp opportunities for children ages 8 thru teens. Girls can attend Victorian (1800s) camp sessions or Colonial (1700s) camp sessions--both offering chances for girls to dress in costume and learn what it was like to live long ago. We offer a themed camp just for teens, and a dance camp which includes boys.

BACK FOR THE SECOND YEAR BY POPULAR DEMAND!--An International Folk Dance Camp is being offered to BOYS and girls, ages 9 through teens. Campers will learn and perform circle, couple and line dances from several European countries, and make costumes and sample foods from various regions. This camp was introduced last year and was a huge hit!! (Photos of folk dance camp and program will be added to this site soon!)

The Victorian Camp offers girls ages 8-12 a glimpse into the life of a girl in the mid-1800s. Each day the girls dress up in hoop skirts and participate in activities that will carry them back to days of old, such as making their own bonnets, writing in calligraphy, taking tea in the Victorian style, doing needlework, learning early American dancing, and much more!

The Colonial Camp gives girls ages 8 - 12 the opportunity to spend a week dressing up in 1700s outfits, and learning what life was like for the early settlers of America. Girls sew their own mob caps to take home, and participate in many interesting activities of the Colonial days, such as candle-making, embroidery, making butter, and of course, lots of dancing!

A Teen Week is held for girls ages 11 and up who are more mature. This is an especially fun and challenging week for teens.

The NEW THEME THIS YEAR is "The Edwardian Era," and the campers will learn about the time-period after the Victorian period around the turn-of-the-century. (early 1900s). Campers will make fancy hats and dress in the costumes of the day. Campers will learn about the Titanic, and watch excerpts of the "Titanic" movie. Campers will also learn English Country Dancing, and other challenging old-style dances.

These unique day camp sessions are held each summer in downtown Fayetteville, Georgia, which is approximately 20 miles south of Atlanta. The camp is conducted in several week-long sessions throughout the summer. Hours are 9am to 3pm, Monday thru Friday. There is a program and "tea" for the families on the Friday evening (7 pm) of each session, where the campers dress in costumes and present a program designed to show what they've learned all week, including displaying crafts they've made during the week, and performing several of the dances they have learned.
